Student Interactives
STAIR Project on GovernmentI created this non-linear Powerpoint interactive as a way to help my students enhance their knowledge of the structure of Michigan's state government.
Traditionally, students have struggled with the different powers of the branches of government, so by creating this resource, I am providing the students with a way to review their knowledge of this subject on their own without the need for teacher intervention. My design for this project makes it perfect for use with 3rd and 4th grade students. |

Henry Ford Web QuestOne of the most important figures in Michigan history is Mr. Henry Ford. His process, the assembly line, is a very critical concept for students in 3rd and 4th grade. I created this to help students better grasp the impact that his discoveries, and his actions, had on society.
In this quest, I have the students take on the role of Henry Ford to create a Blabber (blabberize.com.) I chose to go this route so the students could identify with Ford and understand his life from his perspective. It is a different take on a biography project. |
Online Course DevelopmentOne of the most rewarding student interactive projects that I created was my online course. This course was designed for use with 3rd grade students to teach them about the major industries that impact Michigan's economy. Unfortunately, the hosting site took down the course without notifying me, so I am in the process of trying to recover it.
Below, you will find a PDF version of my developer's notebook for this online course. In this document, you can see my thoughts on how I designed the course, and the rationale for decisions that I made.
